This week, I caught up with Los Angeles-based multimedia journalist Mel Buer. We talked about how an international reporting trip early in her career inspired her to continue covering labor and protest movements, what it meant to cover a strike in her hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, and what she wants you to know about freelancing and indie journalism.
